(My email is matthewseneca@gmail.com in case the link does not work.) About HiroyaBorn and raised in Kyoto, Japan, Hiroya is a one-of-a-kind guitarist and composer. In 2000, he received a scholarship to Berklee College of Music and came to the US. Since then, he has been performing internationally including appearances at Blue Note in New York with his group and Japanese National Television. Hiroya released six albums. Most recently, he won 2nd place in International Finger Style Guitar Championship in 2018.
I had the great privilege of hearing Hiroya for the first time this summer at the Swannanoa Gathering. From the first notes he played, hypnotic, pristine, and deeply musical, I knew he would be a perfect fit for Passion House Concerts. I am so excited to welcome Hiroya to Huntersville and introduce him to you! To learn more about Hiroya, visit his... Website Facebook Page |
Post-Show Milonga! As many of you know, my two passions are acoustic music and tango. And so I thought, "Why not combine the two?" Although Hiroya's music is not tango, he plays with the same soul and passion as any tanguero. He has even played in an Argentine folk band. And that is enough connection for me!
And so... after this concert there will be a milonga! You do not have to attend the milonga if you only want to see the concert, but if you want to attend the milonga, I highly encourage you to reserve a seat to hear Hiroya! Space is limited, and priority will be given to those who come to the concert. At present, I am not offering an option to attend the milonga but not the concert in order to encourage my tango community to take a chance on this wonderful artist!
